Bar Pool Rules

pool billiards games

Be sure to read the rules before you begin playing bar pool. The 8-ball, Rotational, Double tapping, Assigning solids/stripes, and Rotational rules are all important. This will ensure that your game is enjoyable and fun for all. This will allow you to win.

8-ball

Eight-ball pool rules differ from the rules for professional pool games. The 8-ball pool rules are meant for the average player, not the professional. These rules won't force you to learn 15 pages of complicated rules just to play a particular game. They will help you understand basic pool games.

The eight-ball game requires no color-based racking. This version of the game requires that the 8 ball be the frontmost of three center balls. Many people place the one in front. Rules also stipulate that you can lose a turn for making a mistake with a ball. It is also not a requirement to call straight shots or touch a rail when making a shot.

Double tap

Double tapping in barpool rules refers the ability of a player to double-tap on an objectball by positioning the cueball near the object ball, and then aiming at the object. A cueball is within an inch of an object ball if it is less than 12 inch. It is also called "sharking".

Assigning solids or stripes

It is common to assign solids or stripes for bar pool rules. This helps define the game's style. Solids and strips are two types of pool game. To call all aspects of a 8-ball game, players use a cueball.

Official pool rules prohibit hitting an opponent's object ball first. The player with the striped ball in his pocket is out of turn. The double hit refers to when the cuestick hits the cueball twice within one stroke. This is considered a foul.

Etiquette

There are many rules to play pool at a bar. You will find that each bar has its own set of rules. Make sure you check before you play. You may also want to ask if there are any special rules that will be in effect for the next game. If there are any, it's best to respect those rules and play by them. This will allow everyone to enjoy the game, without causing any harm.

It's important to remember that the WPA "official rules" do not include "dirty pool." Smart pool is a shot that isn't dirty. However, some people consider defensive shots dirty. Intentionally scratched shots are also considered unethical.
