For a great game, it is important to know how to properly speak English in pool. While mistakes can be made when you play English, there are ways to make up for them and win more games. There are several ways you can do this. There are three options: Reverse English, Left English and Right English. Learn how to play Call-shot.

Right English

The right English is a shot that causes the cue ball to travel the opposite way from its normal trajectory. If executed correctly, the shot will cause cue balls to travel left, right and backwards. Normal shots will follow a straight line. English allows you the freedom to alter the trajectory by employing a variety if techniques. This shot is known as a "deflection" or "squirt", and is more common in the United States.

Left English

English is a term that pool enthusiasts use to describe side spin created by the cue balls after contact with an object. You can perform it by hitting the ball slightly off centre or hitting it harder. English can be combined with bottom and top spin. Side spin is sometimes called "English" by some players who are trying to improve their skill. Even though most beginners are comfortable using English to improve shots, they may not be familiar with the terminology. Because of this, their shots might end up being wide.

Reverse English

Reverse English, also known as pool, is a shot in that the cueball makes a deflection (or side-spin) on its way towards the target. This shot can prove very helpful, especially in matches. It can help you line your cue ball up with the target, and keep it from going too far to either the side or the bottom of the table.

Call-shot game

The call-shot game in pool is a common variation of traditional pool. The shooter chooses a pocket before making a shot and must indicate this choice to his opponents. Additionally, the shooter must decide between solids and stripes. After making a choice, the shooter then calls the 8 ball and sinks it.

Balls of rattled object

Scratched object ball are balls that aren't legal to touch with the pool cue. They can cause scratches on the pool tables. The ball will not move if it is in a hole. However, if the ball hits another object ball, or if the cue ball strikes a corner of the table, it will cause a scratch.

Drawing stroke

There are many different drawing strokes for English pool. A draw stroke means that the cue ball has to reverse its direction after hitting it. It is best to use a level cue, loosely gripped and with the tip of the cup down. There is a range of forces required to achieve the desired effect. Professional players can break at 36 mph while amateurs can do the same thing at half the speed.
